Meet Hope T. Madike — Founder of HTM Legacy

The honest version of Hope T. Madike's story does not start with a brilliant idea or a moment of clarity.

It starts with a rejection letter after rejection letter.

In 2020, Hope applied to law schools, yes plural. She did not get in. That same year, COVID arrived. Most people's plans went on pause.

Hope did not pause.

She started a business — a dropshipping venture called Baby Bliss Treasure. It did not work. She rebranded under the name Neo Farina. That did not work either. But both businesses did something law school never could: they taught her the actual ground of running something. How to find clients. How to lose them. How to price work, deliver under pressure, and fail without it meaning you quit.

In the years that followed, she freelanced across multiple businesses and studied — accumulating more than 40 qualifications in graphic design, project management, IT, web development, and more. Not for the certificates. Because she was not going to walk into any professional room and not know her work cold.

By early 2026, one thing was clear: she was not going to wait for someone to decide she was hireable, or worth while. She was going to build something that hired people the way she believed they should be hired — for what they could do, not what was on their CV.

HTM Legacy launched in March 2026.

What is HTM Legacy

HTM Legacy is a South African business support firm, based in Johannesburg, Gauteng. It works with service-based businesses and founders to build a lasting business presence — through digital infrastructure, brand identity, operational support, corporate documentation, and giving businesses and clients the platform to tell their story.

The firm runs across four divisions:

  • HTM Legacy Digital — website design and development, hosting, domains, corporate email, SEO, etc. see HTM Legacy Digital

  • HTM Legacy Creative — brand identity, logo design, graphic design, visual communication, motion media, and so much more. See HTM Legacy Creative

  • HTM Legacy Support — admin operations, CIPC compliance, email and calendar management, client coordination, virtual assistance, See HTM Legacy Support

  • Lumina Guides — corporate storytelling, custom publishing, legacy documentation, personal storytelling. See Lumina Guides by HTM Legacy

The premise behind all of it is this: most South African founders are doing brilliant work in the area their business was built for — and drowning in everything else it takes to keep the business running. HTM Legacy handles the everything else.

Who Hope T. Madike is

She is young, bold, brilliant, and in her 20's. She is a young Black woman from Pretoria who started two businesses that did not make it and came back with a third that she is building with a longer view than most people her age are permitted to have.

She is gay, and that is not a footnote — the community she belongs to,and womanhood "sisterhood" are what she actively builds for and protects. It shapes who she hires, how she works, and what she considers a safe place to be.

She is direct. Not cold, but direct. She does not perform enthusiasm she does not feel. When she delivers work, she delivers it well — well enough that clients say so without being asked. She does not announce that. The work does.

She works late. She thinks in systems. She carries the kind of patience that comes not from being unhurried but from knowing exactly what she is building toward.

What she is building toward

The empire. The warehouses with the HTM name on the side. An institution that hires for skill, not credentials. A place that will serve mother earth and her people. A workplace that is genuinely safe for women, for the LGBTQ+ community, for people who have been counted out by systems that were not designed for them.

The client work is how she earns the right to get there. Every project is a brick.

"A legacy is not left by accident," the tagline reads. "It's built with intention, structure, and story."

That is the operating principle of HTM Legacy. It is also Hope's.
